Your mission is NOT your covenant
But often we forsake the covenant for the sake of the mission…
Whether you’re in the mission field, or on mission in your business, you cannot place your calling ahead of your covenant.
Those that dedicate themselves to the safety and protection of our nation in the armed forces swear an oath to our country that they will protect our Constitution against enemies both foreign and domestic. Their covenant is to protect the USA or die trying. Their mission, however, is different.
It is temporary and tactical, meant to achieve a time-sensitive, specific goal. It is intended to gird up and enforce their covenant, not replace it or be put ahead of it.
Without covenant, their missions have no “why” (meaning), because they don’t have purpose.
But because of their oath, their missions now have meaning. The primary becomes the means by which they honor and defend their covenant.
So too is it true for you.
Your marriage is a covenant, and your business, ministry, and service should be done because of your covenant, not in spite of it.
So I want to challenge you today to get real with yourself and God.
Is your marriage the covenant foundation for your mission, or are you pursuing your mission in spite of your marriage?
Now if this is hitting you, know that this isn’t condemnation, but encouragement.
It’s something we learned the hard way and have overcome thanks to God and the battle-tested strategies that He equipped us with to fight and take back the ground the enemy tried to steal.
We’re here to help you do the same.
So whether things feel alright but seem to be on auto-pilot, or you realize that maybe you’re in the trenches, on mission, but have lost sight of your primary—your covenant—
We invite you to learn more.
Because the truth is that if your marriage is not in covenant with what God says it should be, then it’s aligned with what the enemy says it should be.
